     Hello! My name is Matvey Lopatin. I am 10 years old. I am a pupil class 4 of secondary school 28 the town of Murom.

    My native town is Murom. I was born in it and I like it very much.It's the finest town for me.

     Murom is famous for its age. It is one of the oldest Russian towns. It was founded in 862  and now it is  1150 years old.

     Murom is situated on the left bank of the river Oka. It is not far from the capital of our country Moscow.

   My town is not big. Its population is about 150 000.

      My town is famous for its hero Ilya Muromets who lived in the village of Karacharovo.And now there is a monument to Ilya Muromets on the bank of the Oka river.

    Also the guests of our town can see a bylina stone Ilya Murometsandan armored train "Ilya Muromets".

     Murom is famous for  saints  Prince Peter and Fevronia.

    Many tourists and pilgrims come to Murom to venerate the relics of Peter and Fevronia.They are in the Holy Trinity - the monastery.

     Thanks to St. Peter and Fevronia, Murom is the founder of a beautiful holiday - Family Day and loyalty.

     This is the coat of arms of Murom. It shows the cake.  We know Murom was famous for such cakes many years ago .

   Murom is famous for its churches.

    The most famous ones are Voskresenskaya, Smolenskaya, Nickola-Naberezhnaya, Kozma-Demyanskaya churches.

    But monasteries are the most beautiful in Murom.

    Blagoveshchensky monasteryand Holy Trinity Monastery are located near the town center.

   The most beautiful monastery in the city - is the Holy Preobrazhenskiy Monastery.

   I like to be in this monastery. I was baptized there.

   Murom has a lot of interesting places.The Palace of Culture is situated near Victory Square.

   We have some other beautiful squares too, for example Railway Square with the monument to Nikolai Gastello. But Victory Square is the best.

   There are a lot of parks in Murom. OkskyPark is the finest.I like it very much. It is situated on the bank of the river Oka.

    There are museums in Murom.I really like the Museum of History and Archaeology.We can see a lot of interesting things there and we can learn much about the history of our town.

   But the most beautiful place in the city - it is a new bridge across the Oka river. It is  very huge and beautiful.  Our president V.V. Putin was present when the bridge was opened.

     I love my town and I am glad to live in it.
