The procedure of the lesson: T: Good morning, dear children! Sit down! Who is on duty today? What date is it today? Who is absent today? How are you? What’s the weather like today? Now I’ll show you the verb and you should translate it and name the three forms of this verb. Eg.: come – came – come (приходить)
Today we are going to review Past Simple and Past Continuous tenses and do some exercises. Open your books at page 188 -189 and read grammar rules. Ex. 12 p. 13 Here are the past tense forms of 10 verbs. Write in the base form. Ex. 13 p. 13 Pre-reading task. You are going to read a joke "Landing on time”. Read these words and check the ones you think you will meet in the joke. Ex. 14 p. 13 Reading. Were your predictions right? Ex. 15 p. 13 Read and correct the mistakes. Ex. 16 p. 14 Pair work. Decide which the correct tense is. Past Simple or Past Continuous. Eg.: Five years ago I travelled / was travelling on a plane. Ex. 17 p. 14 Group work. Ask and answer the questions. Ex. 18 p. 14 Correct the mistakes in these sentences. Ex. 19 p. 15 Which bags contains mistakes in the use of past tenses? Correct the wrong sentences.
