Tenses of the verb.

The procedure of the lesson:

T: Good morning! Sit down! Who is on duty today? What date is it today? Who is absent today?

How are you? What’s the weather like today?  What animals do you know? Are they wild or domestic?

Your home task was: retelling of the text.

Today we are going to review the tenses of the verb. Open your books on page 187  and read the grammar rules.

Ex. 1 p. 194 Decide whether the verbs in these sentences are right or wrong. Correct the wrong sentences.

Example: 1)Asel is usually go to school by bus. – right

2) Look! The kettle boil. – wrong

The kettle is boiling.

Ex. 2 p. 194 Use the Present Continuous or the Present Simple tenses.

Example: What do you think about this play? – I think it is very good.

Ex. 3 p. 195 Make sentences. Each sentence has one verb in the Past Continuous and one in the Past Simple.

Example: She / break / her knee / when / she / ski.

She broke her knee when she was skiing.

Ex. 4 p.  195 Correct the wrong sentences.

Example: Leo Tolstoy has been a Russian writer. – wrong

Leo Tolstoy was a Russian writer.

Ex. 5 p. 195 Put the verb into the correct form, Present Perfect Simple or Continuous.

Example:

Granny has lost her glasses.

I’m very tired, because I have been running for 2 hours.
